Hari Joy is the Director of Investments at Blue Haven Initiative, where he leads the strategy, execution, and management of our in-house investment portfolio. In this capacity, Hari oversees the full investment lifecycle, from strategic planning and opportunity sourcing to due diligence and deal closing. Beyond managing investments, he collaborates closely with portfolio company founders, providing strategic guidance and serving on their Boards to support business growth and navigate complex challenges effectively.
Drawing from years of hands-on experience in private equity and venture investing, Hari has cultivated a unique ability to identify high-potential companies and funds that align with Blue Haven's mission of achieving measurable social and environmental impact. His expertise spans a range of sectors and stages, with an emphasis on fostering sustainable and scalable business models.
Before stepping into his current position, Hari served as a Senior Associate at Blue Haven, where he played a pivotal role in advancing the firm's investment strategy and strengthening relationships across the portfolio. After pursuing an MBA, he returned to Blue Haven to continue driving impactful investments with a renewed perspective.
Earlier in his career, Hari worked in private equity at Clayton, Dubilier & Rice, where he focused on large-scale transactions and supported operational improvements across portfolio companies in the tech services, industrials, consumer, and healthcare spaces. Prior to that, he gained significant experience in investment banking at J.P. Morgan, focusing on mergers and acquisitions, equity offerings, and debt transactions in the financial services sector.
Hari is based in New York City. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer, running by the Hudson River, and hitting the open road on his motorcycle. Hari holds a B.S. in Economics, summa cum laude, and an MBA with Honors, both from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
