Simon Thompson is the Managing Director of Civics for Blue Haven Initiative. In this role, he leads strategy and partnership building for the family office’s Civics portfolio. Blue Haven Civics engages strategic partners to promote institutional, market, and government policies that create opportunity for future generations. Civics focuses its programs on three core areas: Inspiring Innovation, Improving Markets, and Strengthening Democracy.
Simon first joined Blue Haven in 2014, helping to build the Civics team and define its mission over two years. He rejoined Blue Haven in 2021 as Associate Director of Civics and advanced to Managing Director in 2024.
In between his time at Blue Haven, Simon led various political and advocacy initiatives in his home state of Maine. This has included leading the organizing program for the Hillary Clinton campaign, establishing a local parks conservancy, managing a Congressional primary campaign, and most recently leading a statewide grant-making program that advocated for economic security and democracy policies.
Simon graduated from Harvard College in 2014. He lives in Portland, Maine, with his partner, Caroline, and their adoring cat, Patches.
