Daniel Wanjira is Director of Strategic Initiatives at Blue Haven Initiative, where he oversees the philanthropic and catalytic capital portfolio. In his role, he works on field building across impact investing and deploying catalytic capital to seed, scale, and sustain market solutions needing patient capital.
Daniel has deep knowledge of impact-first strategies, and he combines research, partnerships, and innovative finance approaches to accelerate solutions addressing systemic global challenges.
Prior to Blue Haven, Daniel served as a strategy consultant at the International Finance Corporation in Washington, D.C., where he contributed to financial sector initiatives supporting resilience in emerging markets during the COVID-19 pandemic. He also worked as a senior advisor at Energy 4 Impact, leading energy access programs across solar and Mini grid systems in Africa. Earlier in his career, he was a management consultant with Ernst & Young in Nairobi.
Beyond his role at Blue Haven, Daniel is active in the field of impact investing. He serves on the Executive Committee of the Tipping Point Fund on Impact Investing and contributes to the Catalytic Capital Consortium.
Daniel earned his MSc in Foreign Service, with distinction, from Georgetown University and holds a BSc in Actuarial Science from Strathmore University.
